Xia J. Hwang
Associate
As an associate with the firm’s West Covina office, Xia Hwang focuses her practice on several areas of civil litigation, including premises liability, catastrophic personal injury, and first and third-party insurance claims. Ms. Hwang has spent her entire legal career defending corporate and public entities in litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hwang represented major insurers in first-party, bad faith litigation involving property loss and business interruption claims for commercial properties. She specialized in coverage matters, interpreting insurance contracts and drafting opinion letters advising insurers on excluded losses, exaggerated claims, fraud, and litigation risks.
Ms. Hwang received her B.A. in Philosophy from UC Berkeley and her J.D. from UC Hastings. At Hastings, Ms. Hwang was a Chancellor’s Scholarship recipient and a recipient of the Hastings Public Interest Law Foundation grant which permitted her to intern at the San Francisco Mayor’s Office while in law school.
Outside of her legal practice, Ms. Hwang enjoys playing golf and is an avid hiking trail seeker.
